Chuck McConnell
Chuck
Chuck McConnell's South Carolina roots run deep. His ancestors settled here in the 1700s. But his experience, beyond South Carolina, runs wide. He's lived in ten states and his "day job" as CEO of a national association has taken him to all fifty. His love of storytelling is "genetic," he says. "My father was a bit of a showman and a life-long storyteller; my mother was a librarian!" Chuck's repertoire includes unpublished oral tradition tales as well the story of his great-grandfather, an officer in the Confederate Army, wounded at the Battle of the Crater.

A true Southern Lady and navy brat, who has lived and traveled all over the world, she holds a Master of Education from USC and is a retired teacher.

Always interested in spirits, spirituality and storytelling, she has been telling stories for Ghosts and Legends of Columbia since its inception in 2003.

Ryan Boyd
Ryan

Ryan has lived most of her life in the Columbia area, and is very familiar with the town... and it's ghosts. She is an English major and a student at the University of South Carolina. Her love for words and passion for history are a major part of her storytelling, as well as her keen interest in the supernatural. Ryan was born in Charleston and left her heart there when she moved to Lexington, SC. She enjoys going to the beach, reading, writing, and most of all, storytelling.
